So it’s time to move one of your heftier appliances, but you don’t want to cause cosmetic damage to you, your appliance, or your floor. What’s the best way you ask? DIYer Danny Lipford shows you the proper method when it comes to moving your appliances. He suggests using a hand truck, but you run into the issue of it potentially scratching up your appliance. To solve this problem, wrap the hand truck in rubber foam with duct tape. Before you get a movin’, the rubber tires on the hand truck can leave marks and scuff up your floor; you’ll want to toss flat sheets of cardboard on the path you plan on moving it on. It’s as simple as lifting your unplugged appliance slightly up, and sliding in the cardboard, and pulling your appliance towards you; then, wiggle your appliance forward and onto the hand truck – making sure cardboard is underneath at all times. Once you have your appliance on the truck, you are ready to move it to wherever your heart desires. Perhaps it’s just a temporary move to revamp the kitchen, or making room for an upgraded purchase – either way, you’ll save your floor and appliance from damage.
