Most people forget to ever clean their stove hood filters, as they are hidden inside the appliance and they never see the dirt that is accumulating. But you will be amazed at just how much grease gets in there and you’d wish you would have tried to clean it sooner.
For the easiest solution to clean your hood filters you need just water, baking soda and a big pot. Fill the pot with water and bring it to a boil, then start adding the baking soda. You should add in total around 1/2 cup of baking soda, but be careful and add just a small amount at a time.
Add the stove hood filters to the pot and let them in the water that is still boiling for 5 to 10 minutes. The grease will dissolve and you may have to turn the filters with the other side up, since they are usually long and can’t be submerged completely in the water.
This is the easiest way to clean your hood filters, with no special cleaning solution needed, just things you already have around your house.
