If you have fresh fruit that you’re not sure what to do with…dehydrate it. Dried fruit is a yummy and healthy snack that can be made right from your oven—no dehydrator is required. According to The Kitchn, turn down your oven to its lower temperature ranges and pop in your baking sheets filled with evenly placed fruit. All together, the whole drying out process should take anywhere from 5-7 hours depending on the type of fruits and model of your oven. If you have a few more racks lying around, you can really load your oven up to make the process as efficient as possible. While it is a bit time-involved since you will need to be home while you’re oven is on, it’s not a bad gig if you’re dehydrating fruit a few times a year. Though, if you feel like you’ll be dehydrating more frequently, perhaps a dehydrator will suite you better since they are more efficient.
