Clean Your Electric Stove Coils with Dish Soap & Baking Soda

You know when you turn on your stovetop, and after a few minutes it smells burnt and funky? This is a sure sign it’s time for an electric burner clean up. Apartment Therapy guides you through great tips to scrub off your burners with caked-on gunk glued on them. You’ll first want to remove your electric coils. It’s super important that they’re cooled off. If you’re uncertain how to remove them, it’s an easy process—we even have a video to show you how it’s done: Next, it’s a process of dampening a cloth with dish soap and water, and gently scrubbing off the gunk. Then, you’ll want to rinse your burners thoroughly. Make sure not to submerge your burner or get any its electrical components wet during this cleaning process. Period. Now if there is food debris that just won’t come off, mix yourself up a paste consisting of baking soda and water. Dab your mixture on those tough areas on your burner and allow it to sit for 15-20 minutes. Scrub and rinse. That debris should come off in a snap. Of course, allow your burners to dry completely before reinstalling. Hit the link below for more Apartment Therapy goodness:
