Use Microwave Cooking Time to Your Advantage

When you warm up or cook your food in the microwave, what are you doing during those precious moments of time? Whether you feel like a bomb detonator when you stop the microwave at 0:01, or you stare aimlessly at your turning food—you could be using that time to be productive in the kitchen. What can you do in a few minutes of time? Surprisingly, quite a bit! Reddit user withoutamartyr suggests using microwave time to tidy up in the kitchen, and knock out a few chores. So, the next time you are warming up a baked potato (remember to poke holes), don’t just sit there—do something, and make it a race to see how much you can get done! From tossing out spoiled leftovers, wiping down your countertops, loading/unloading your dishwasher, or cleaning your stovetop, you can knock out some chores in a short amount of time. Then, when your food is done, go back to doing what you were doing—it’s that simple, yet so productive! If you have a day of cleaning, why not steam clean your microwave, and use that time in between to clean something else? Double whammy!  Though, this savvy tip will not be the end cleaning solution of a disastrous kitchen, it will help you use time wisely. We bet you’d actually impress yourself to see how much you can get done in such little time. Psst—this tip can also be applied when you cook something up in your toaster oven.
