UK service company, JTM Service is the first to develop a washing machine that is activated through a dog’s bark. Created in partnership with manufacturer, Miele, for Support Dogs UK, the washing machine has high hopes to make life easier for those with disabilities with their “Woof to Wash” machines. Assistant dogs already have the proper training to remove bed sheets, and even load a washing machine—well, now they have the capabilities of starting up a washer. To unlock the washing machine, the support dogs simply press on a pressure-activated pad. A small rope attached to the washer door allows our furry friends to pull open the door; to close the washing machine, the assistant dogs use their noses. As for detergent, the machine automatically dispenses and measures what’s needed from a storage container. With the ability to start a cycle through a friendly ‘woof,’ this washing machine will begin the load. How cool is that?
