Fluffy, fresh rice is delicious and makes an enjoyable accompaniment to a main meal. If you have leftover rice or have some extra in advance for another future dish, you can freeze and reheat it—making it as fluffy as ever like the first time you made it. OnePotChef shows you 2 methods to store and revamp your leftover rice. To freeze the grain, allow it to cool completely, and scoop it into a microwave and freezer-safe bowl. Seal your container with a lid, and pop your rice in the freezer—this will last you up to a few months or so. Now, for the reheating tip. Let’s just say your microwave is your new best friend. Pop open the lid to your frozen rice, and add a dash or two of some water to it. To keep the moisture in, cover your container with a damp paper towel, and nuke it in the microwave between 1-3 minutes (depending on how much rice you’re cooking). Fluff the rice with a fork, and microwave it again with the paper towel on top for another 1-3 minutes. Allow your deliciousness to sit for a couple minutes and fluff it again. Add it to your favorite meal, or eat it plain, either way, kick back and enjoy your leftover rice (you won’t even be able to tell the difference).
