leaves and crisp air is just to die for. Autumn is one of the best seasons to partake in delicious comfort food, and relax in delicious scents that are just pure bliss. While there are candle and wax scents like Caramel Pumpkin Spice or Cinnamon Bun with Vanilla Frosting, take a look at the ingredients. Do you notice the word, “fragrance?” There is some research you can do on this, though, it has generally been known that this term carries a ton of baggage with it. The term, “fragrance,” has undisclosed and unnatural ingredients behind its name. So, it is safe to say, natural is the better route to go.
Forget the potpourri and candles, say hello to delicious simmering pot recipes—just like your grandmother did back in the day on her stovetop. Clove, nutmeg, cinnamon sticks, vanilla, orange rinds and apple peels will leave your home smelling amazing to accompany this beautiful season to come. Psst…we have mentioned in previous articles to toss your citrus peels in your garbage disposal for a citrus refresher, don’t grind those up just yet. Keep your leftover peels to simmer!
Here’s whatcha’ do…you fill up a small pan with some water, bring it to a boil on your stovetop, add your favorite ingredients, and allow your concoction to boil for a few minutes. Then, reduce your stove’s heat to a simmer. That’s it. Though, you will want to make sure your pan has water in it; approximately every 30 minutes or so, add the h2O. Feel free to modify the recipes, make your own and experiment! (That’s half the fun.) (As always, do not leave your home unattended with your stove turned on. You will also want a reminder to check your pan every 30 minutes so it doesn’t start burning.)
